Heya,
It's been a bumpy week so far but an era where we have more than one way to profit from scanning your face is a good one.
I also found some great tarot cards, a way to decrease Chrome's footprint (yes, really!), and something for anyone that's ever wanted to have a tickle responsive phone.
Enjoy,
Chris.
๐ธ๏ธ The Cool Side of the Web
I am a big fan of tarot card design, so you know I was elated to see Dalรญ's tarot cards. ๐
There's some great historical deal in the article that brought them to my attention.
For some personal history, I remember the doctor from my childhood was a big Dalรญ fan and had 'The Persistence of Memory' hanging on the wall of his surgery. He also had a Porsche and represented, for me in a small town in Western Sydney, the absolute pinnacle of European sophistication.
๐ Beautiful Data
Mapped: Where will the top 10 cities be located in 2035?
A nice combination of infographics and projected GDP, GDP growth, and population to predict the ten biggest cities in 2035. Australia and New Zealand are so far out of the running that we don't even get included on the maps.
๐ค Robots et. al.
Take your face off for these robots who want to look just like you. ๐ค
If you're looking to make $125,000 and you're willing to cede copyright of your face, then sell it to this startup. They are looking for kind and friendly faces to give their robots a little of that human touch. Sketchy from top to bottom with little detail available about where the robots will be working and what they will do. The smart money is on robots who will work in the medical field.
In other face related news, getting a smartphone in China will also require making a down payment with your face.
In a less intrusive way, you can use this app to Renaiss-ize your face using AI to blend your face with the greatest masterpieces of all time (mobile only).

Interview with a Pornhub web developer. ๐
Regardless of your ethical stance, PornHub has a lot of content, a lot of traffic, and the love of Elon Musk. They probably know a few tricks about building fast websites; this interview shares a few of their tricks and which technologies they are focusing on in the future.
๐ฅ World of WordPress
How to remove clutter from your website.
All of your friends have the same story...
"I just wanted a social share button here. Then I added an icon over there. I put some ads up the top and down the side. Then I found these cool animations. And that photo of the red car looks really sharp.
And now I have a hot mess with a domain name. Can you help?"
Related to the above, how to build a website with Wix and WordPress without all the mess. ๐๏ธ
Once you send them the declutter article, then send them this one which is chock full of best practices and guidelines for making a professional site.
Outro
Just for kicks here is a list of the strangest, banned, baby names from around the world. I was surprised to see how often New Zealand popped up.
